Defining and planning your next career steps after your MBA is a job in itself, and much of your success in that venture is in your own hands. That’s why our Careers & Personal Development team is here to help you develop the skills you'll need to manage your career after graduation and way beyond. The team will help you build your own personal career network, using Nyenrode's national and international corporate base. A program of workshops, presentations, individual counseling, and coaching sessions aims to cover the essential skills you need - from getting to know yourself and your own needs to knowing the market and getting the job. We have a range of virtual and web-based services, such as online CVs, a company database, job listings, and the Career Services Calendar.
Our graduates pursue careers in a wide range of industries, functions and countries. While some move into consulting, finance and marketing roles in large and small organizations, others go on to start their own businesses. Some 65% of our MBA graduates accept their first job before or upon graduation and a further 30% accept their first job offer within three months of graduation. And the remainder invests yet more time in job-search or takes a short break before embarking on the next career step.
Dutch immigration regulations permit international graduates from Dutch institutions to spend a further 12 months in the Netherlands after graduation, to focus on their job search as a highly skilled migrant. During this period you have free access to the Dutch labour market, which means you are allowed to work during that period. As the Netherlands is conveniently located in the center of Western Europe it has become the home to many expats. The Netherlands is party to the Schengen agreement, and therefore is the perfect location to complete your MBA if you wish to stay in Europe after graduation. Within Careers & Personal Development, we strive to keep building and maintaining relationships with business contacts and corporate recruiters, not to mention our own alumni network, to bringing the Nyenrode Business Community and our students closer together. Networking is key to sourcing new career openings, so emphasis is placed on those occasions upon which we can provide networking and meet-and-greet opportunities for our students, coupled with sector-focused events where successful alumni share their insights in the sectors in which they work.
