Closing the gap between business and IT can only be done with the combined forces of a top business school and a top university of technology together with the business community. For the Dutch initiative the program has four founding partners: CIO Academy and EuroCIO, Nyenrode Business University and Delft TopTech, Executive Education Delft University of Technology. The program also holds strong ties with CIO Platform Nederland.

 

The Dutch foundation CIO Academy aims to improve the knowledge and develop the competences of the CIO by spearheading educational initiatives – such as this MBA – providing information, and organising CIO meetings and master classes. Participants of the CIO Academy come from all corners of the IT world: from private enterprises, the public sector, the IT industry, and university education. CIO academy acts as a linchpin between the universities and the market.
 

Founded in 2004, EuroCIO provides CIOs with a platform for sharing best practices and raising awareness of key IT issues. By bringing CIOs under a European-wide umbrella, EuroCIO provides a means of voicing their collective position to the main IT suppliers and European regulatory authorities, to academic institutions and the broader user community. The EuroCIO umbrella covers CIO platforms in Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands, Sweden, and the UK.

 
CIO Platform Nederland is the independent association of CIOs and IT managers of private and public organisations in the Netherlands. Its members each have a turnover of more than

€ 500 million per annum and/or at least 1000 co-workers and/or an IT budget of at least € 25 million.

Delft TopTech, Executive Education Delft University of Technology, offers executive Master’s programmes of international appeal and reputation in the fields of energy, industrial ecology, information technology, petroleum engineering, space technology, transport, and safety and environment. These programs aim to strengthen the innovative capabilities of individuals and organisations in both the private and the public sector.
 

Nyenrode is the only private university in the Netherlands. The university offers graduate level programs in the fields of general management, accountancy and controlling. As Nyenrode Business University is highly selective, with a focus on candidates’ motivation and social skills, it has created an environment in which participants and faculty are all dedicated to bridging the gap between academic rigour and daily business practice.
