Alex Klein (1969) is assistant professor of marketing at Nyenrode. He holds three different degrees at bachelor’s level (corporate communications, sales management and safety & security), as well as three master degrees (Europe’s highest in strategic marketing, one Dutch (Nyenrode Business Universiteit) and one American (University of Rochester, NY) Master of Business Administration).

Before working at Nyenrode, Alex Klein worked as CMO at Royal Leerdam Crystal, the hand-made and mouth blown art department of the Dutch glass factory in Leerdam and held the position of CFO for an internationally operating security company. Long time ago, he started to work as a personal sport coach in Massachussets and California.
He is author of the finance novel ‘Regengeluk’ (Dutch only), a book on personal finance, written in easy to understand language. His ability to integrate finance into the real world, as well as explaining it in an understandable manner, results in his appearance for many Dutch TV and radio shows.
Besides all of this, Alex Klein is also one of the best read columnists for De Telegraaf (the largest Dutch daily newspaper), where he writes articles on personal finance.

The topic of his PhD research is the integration of marketing, finance and HR.
He is seeking the answers to questions like: ‘What are the financial results of marketing?’, ‘What are the financial results of better motivated employees?’, ‘How can internal marketing result in better financial performance through engaging employees?’ and ‘How can we make marketing and HR financially measurable?’.

Besides teaching at Nyenrode, Alex Klein also acts as visiting lecturer – finance, marketing and management - for different business schools in The Netherlands. He is a regular speaker at managerial conferences.

Alex Klein lives in the centre of The Netherlands, with his beautiful girlfriend Kyra.
He enjoys walking the dog Cooper (a Swiss White Shepherd) through the great forests of The Hoge Veluwe.
If time permits (and unfortunately; it hardly does…) he enjoys a long bikeride, a power swim, some sweattime in the gym…
