Drs Richard Janssen joined the Strategy Center of Nyenrode Business University as a lecturer Dynamics of Strategy in the beginning of 2008. Since the 1th of october 2009 he became a Phd in the field of strategic innovation for media business model
At Nyenrode he teaches topics centered around competitive landscapes, dealing with uncertainty and creating strategic insight. He brings practical value to the courses by discussing several case studies and coordinating business simulations and games. In addition, he is coordinator of the powerhouse Moments of Truth. The powerhouse does research and education around strategic decision making in complex industries.
Prior to this job Mr Jansssen worked at Telegraaf Media Nederland. He most recently served as Manager Strategy & Business Development, managing a team of analysts and project managers. Before managing this team, he established two new departments in different fields (sales and strategy) and coordinated several product development and strategy execution programs within the media-industry. During this period he started coaching online start-ups in the portfolio of a Dutch investment firm.
His teaching, research and consulting interests are in the field of dynamics of strategy, specifically in firms entering a complex and uncertain (online) environment. Richard supervises MSc and MBA students in these key-areas. Mr Janssen studied Business Administration at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and holds a master degree with specialization in strategy and e-business. He started his carreer at a venture capital/ corporate finance firm and is founder of a small consulting firm 4D Radar BV.
