Markets, Organizations & People
Introduction
This research area includes the domains of sustainable market transformation, digitization and emerging technologies, ambidexterity and innovation, modularization, circular supply chains and supply chain collaboration, ecosystems, systems thinking, value chains, organizational flexibility, consumer psychology and behavior, diversity equity and inclusivity, law & ethics, moral dilemmas & courage, resilience, and work-life balance. The overall goal is to create the ability to deal with drastic changes and wicked problems that make ‘business as usual’ no longer an option.
Focus
In this area we focus on how markets are governed now that ‘collaboration’ is much more needed than ‘competition’; how organizations need to change to create value together with the ‘extended enterprise’ in a sustainable way; and how to ensure that organizations and systems become truly people centered.
We investigate how existing business models can be transformed into local business networks, how innovations can create value consistent with ESG-practices, how organizations can enhance their resiliency contributing to thriving communities and natural environments, how data-driven decision making can improve effectiveness, how hybrid working affects employee satisfaction, and how new labor relations can legally be supported.
Examples of relevant challenges
- How to enhance resilience and sustainability in a strategic way?
- How can governance structures for external collaborations be designed?
- How can emerging technologies be employed in appropriate ways, how can contemporary IT-systems that support the business be implemented?
- How can silo-thinking be transformed into systems-thinking?
- How can we attract and engage the workforce?
Faculty members
In the research area Markets, Organizations & People, experts from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise come together to work jointly on research projects to enable organizations to deal with drastic changes and complex problems that make ‘business as usual’ no longer an option.
