Sustainability has firmly moved to the core of corporate strategy for large organizations in the Benelux. At the same time, translating ambition into execution remains challenging, particularly within international supply chains. This is shown by the first Sustainability Action Barometer 2026 (SAB) by Nyenrode Business University and Tata Consultancy Services.

Nyenrode Business University has appointed Prof. Dr. Ir. Nicolas Chevrollier as Professor of Sustainability Transitions. With this appointment, Nyenrode strengthens its focus on the acceleration of sustainable change in business and society. The chair is embedded in the Center for Entrepreneurship, Governance & Stewardship.

Organizations that strive for innovation, adaptability, and growth cannot do without rebels in their ranks. Rebels have the courage to swim against the current and are therefore able to break through stagnation. Nyenrode professor Bas Kodden’s advice is clear: cherish and facilitate the good rebels in your organization.

AI is developing fast and takes more and more tasks over. Yet Professor Nick van Dam does not see this as a threat, as long as we focus on the right question. “It’s not about how people can get better at what machines already do,” he says. “It’s about what fundamentally distinguishes humans from machines.”
