Biography
I am enthusiastic about guiding business students and managers through turning business uncertainties into business opportunities.
Dr. Ir. Taher Ahmadi is an Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management and Analytics at Nyenrode Business University. He is part of Nyenrode's Faculty Research Center for Marketing & Supply Chain Management.
His teaching, research, and consulting focus is on helping business organizations understand and improve their operations and supply chain to remain competitive in the global marketplace. Within this major theme, his research is concerned with optimizing stochastic supply chains subject to demand and supply uncertainty, the impact of accelerating technologies on supply chain performance, inventory & revenue management, retail operations, and logistics.
His research is published in well-known journals in the field of Operations Research and Management Science such as the European Journal of Operational Research (EJOR), Naval Research Logistics (NRL), IISE Transactions, and OR Spectrum. Besides doing scientific research, Taher is responsible for developing and teaching bachelor and master courses such as 'Learning through Business Games', 'Operations & Process Management', and 'Operations & Supply Chain Management'. He is also currently the thesis coordinator for the Marketing and Supply Chain Management center.
Ahmadi holds a Ph.D. degree in Supply Chain and Operations Management from the School of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). During his PhD, he visited McCombs School of Business, the University of Texas at Austin, Texas, the US as a visiting scholar. He got his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology and Amirkabir University of Technology in Iran, respectively.
Ahmadi has four years of working experience in controlling and managing production operations in a car manufacturer, Parskhordro Co., in Iran. He also consulted a Lean Office Improvement Project at the Supply Chain and Innovation Department of Amgen Inc. in Breda. In both industries, Taher developed some generic problem-solving solutions.
International activities
Ahmadi has had research collaborations with international scholars from the University of Waterloo in Canada, Tehran Polytechnic, and Kurdistan Universities in Iran. Taher has been actively participating and presenting his research outputs at the International OR/OM Conferences such as INFORMS, IFORS, and EURO, around the world.
Interests
Ahmadi's hobby is playing soccer and spending quality time with his family.
