Performance measurement in the public sector
Does measuring work performance within the public sector in the Netherlands lead to more effectiveness and efficiency? According to prof. dr. Roland Speklé, performance measurement systems often have a negative effect on work performance. “To benefit from them, managers in the public sector need to take a closer look at how they measure and use 'performance information', taking into account the circumstances.”
