We are proud to present the new book ’Virtual Management and the New Normal: New Perspectives on HRM and Leadership since the COVID-19 Pandemic.’
Although telework adoption had been steady but slow since the 1970s, overnight, everyone in so-called ‘non-essential jobs’ had to work from home due to the lockdowns during COVID-19 pandemic. This book presents what can be learned from the COVID-19 pandemic about how to manage ‘an intensified and large scale telework practice.’
The book is published by Palgrave Macmillan and edited by Svein Bergum (Associate Professor at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences), Pascale Peters (Full Professor at Nyenrode Business Universiteit & Visiting Professor at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences), and Tone Vold (Assistant Professor at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences).
It comprises three parts with in total 20 chapters, written by 35 researchers on telework and new ways of working and managing from 11 countries and includes a preface from “the father of telecommuting” Jack Nilles (University of Southern California, Los Angeles).
