Nyenrode Symposium Book Launch

We are excited to announce the launch of a new book, Radical Business Perspectives for Sustainability Transitions, at Nyenrode Business University. This event, an initiative of the Nyenrode Corporate Governance Institute (NCGI), will spotlight our groundbreaking volume that challenges conventional business paradigms, exploring the intersections of business, society, and ecology.

About the Book

The word ‘radical’ was chosen deliberately for its dual meaning: both different and deeply rooted (from the Latin radix). This book features a collection of thought-provoking contributions from radical thinkers, each delving into unconventional yet essential topics aimed at stimulating open and dynamic dialogue. It goes beyond the typical business school literature, pushing boundaries and inviting new ways of thinking that confront the pressing challenges of our time.

How it all Began

This book emerged from animated discussions with our academic colleagues about the very essence of radicality. Are these ideas just academic ideals or can they be practically applied in the business world? Is this a conceptual exercise or a call to redefine business pragmatism? These questions set the stage for our book, which is already stirring debate. Topics like degrowth and innovative approaches to corporate governance are beginning to shift perspectives at our business school, showing the potential for today’s radical ideas to become tomorrow’s reality.
