Dr. Antoinette Hildering is associate professor at the Expertise Center Entrepreneurship, Governance & Stewardship.
She teaches International and European Law for the pre-Master Fiscal Law and coordinates courses such as Principles of Law and Business Law for the BA Accountancy. Sustainable development is central to all her activities: the balance between ecology, economy and social development. Her teaching reflects this by focusing on the connection between international economic law, human rights and the environment. Her research focuses on international water law and sustainable development, the human right to water and the balance between ecology and economics. She likes the fact that especially at a business university like Nyenrode there is a lot of attention and space for a sustainable perspective focused on the future. The combination of practice-oriented academic freedom and entrepreneurship at Nyenrode enhances the vision and motivation in her work.
Hildering is also a lecturer in International and European Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She has also worked at the University of Amsterdam and Utrecht University, where she studied international law. She received her doctorate from the Vrije Universiteit in the field of international water law, resulting in a framework for Guardianship over Water. In addition to academic experience, Hildering has worked for development organizations, government and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. She is owner of Hildering MC2 - Mediation Consultancy Coaching, treasurer of Foundation Ad hoc Ad personam Ad rem, and was president of Youth Work The Hague.
Hildering's personal mission is, using servant leadership, to (help) find a balance between social, economic and ecological aspects. In doing so, Hildering also gives substance to the Nyenrode vision of responsible leadership and entrepreneurship.
