Biography
Dr. Erdogan Gülyaz is a lecturer and researcher at the reseachcenter Center for Marketing & Supply Chain Management at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. He has developed and taught Operations Management course for MSc students and provided Lean training at Nyenrode Lean Institute. His main areas of interest are Lean Management, Product Lifecycle Management, Agile Product Development and Digitalization & New Business Models.
Erdogan received his BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering and MSc degree in Robotics from Istanbul Technical University. He also obtained a Master’s degree in Integrated Manufacturing and Systems Engineering from North Carolina State University.
As a passionate learner, Erdogan took a mid-career break and decided to do an MBA at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. Following his MBA, he also obtained his PhD at the same university in 2017. His dissertation was titled ‘Extending lean framework beyond conventional boundaries: Exploring value creation and appropriation in SMEs and services’. He has several peer-reviewed conference and journal papers focusing on Lean and competitiveness, customer value creation through Lean and Lean innovation.
Erdogan worked as a Process Engineer, Design Engineer and Project Manager for large multinational organizations in various countries. He has more than 20 years of work experience in process improvement, new product development, project management and product management.
Secondary positions
Erdogan is currently working as the Head of Product Lifecycle Management and Lean Product Development at a large engineering multinational where he focuses on accelerating idea-to-market of new offerings.
